Safety Officer Location: Middleburg Salary: Neg Our Client is currently seeking a Safety Officer to join their team. Join this large plant hire service company with an excellent reputation throughout Africa and many overseas countries. Skills / Edu / Exp • Grade 12 or equivalent qualification • Comsoc 1 + 2 certificates • Read and write in English • Computer literate at a skilled level • Knowledge and experience of the processes, equipment, hazards and risk associated with the mining industry • BEE preferred • Opencast experience • Knowledge of the MHSA 29/1996, OHSA, COID Act and all relevant legislation • 2 " 4 years experience in an open cast mining operation • 1 " 2 years experience in a supervisory position in a mining environment • Applicants must have a valid South African driver's licence and their own vehicle • Applicant must be a South African citizen • Applicants must be willing to work overtime • Applicants must be willing to work shifts Duties • Identifying Hazards and Risks • Performing the legal duties assigned to a Safety Officer • Accident investigation • Coordinating of all emergencies • Performing Audits • Legal Inspections Competencies • Investigation skills • Safety Awareness • High quality work standards • Ability to handle stress • Attention to detail Shortlisted candidates will be required to participate in psychometric and medical testing
