The Commercial & Industrial Representative (CIR) will support Technical Sales Representatives (TSRs), Management, and be directly responsible for assigned industrial customers for new and used Parts and Service, new and used industrial equipment and attachments using a wide variety of marketing and sales techniques while increasing customer satisfaction. The CIR will qualify and maintain contact with industrial customers. The goal is to touch these customers a minimum of 4 times per year. The CIR will also assist with walk-in customer opportunities. The CIR will have commercial responsibility for sales of Service related to welding and machining and rental of cranes operated by DSS within the guidelines of our commercial terms and conditions.
Able to establish, qualify and drive leads through the sales pipeline to include Sales Link (our CRM) lead generation and prospect new customer contacts.
Lost Sales reporting, web advertising of equipment descriptions, shippers and receivers, attachment tracking, assist with sales proposals, communication to customers, market and inventory cost analysis, and interaction with staff and recommendations to management.
Quotes working with others, negotiation, delivery and support in order to promote ease of doing business.
Assist the Business Operations Manager and Parts Manager with marketing DSS strengths in welding and machining.
Provide support to the Technical Sales Representatives (TSRs) and Staff in the policies and procedures of DSS.
Assist Business Operations Manager with projects.
Implement effective goal setting techniques in efforts to obtain monthly and annual objectives towards company goals.
Complete training programs as required.
Develop and maintain professional and positive relationships with customers and fellow employees.
Adhere to Company policies and procedures and work safely.
Minimum high school graduate or equivalent.
Successful sales experience.
Experience with heavy industries.
Basic selling skills to include: questioning style communication, good listening and presentation skills, outstanding customer service skills, cold calling, call planning and time management skills, and CRM (Sales Link) or other customer data base management.
Ability to communicate and demonstrate to customers the benefit of working with DSS on its services and offerings for a wide span of industries to include but not limited to, agriculture, construction, power systems, general construction, forestry, and industry with a variety of CAT and non-CAT equipment.
Ability to multi-task.
Intermediate PC skill level to work with Microsoft Office Software, to include but not limited to MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Self-motivated and goal orientated.
Able to understand and explain basic finance concepts.
Able to speak, write and read English.
Bachelors Degree in Business Administration with emphasis in Marketing.
Company forms for quotes, rental contract, invoicing, call reporting, expense accounting and the like.
Product literature and reference material.
Personal computer/desktop computer/laptop computer.
Company files.
Operating company vehicles.
Digital Camera.
Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
Sales Link (our CMR).
Company facilities, customer offices and field sites.
Physical activities include normal office work and driving.
Able to work long days.
Travel required.
Use of all necessary personal protective equipment.
Primarily involved in office activities.
Sit or stand for extended periods of time 6 8 hours per day.
Have and maintain a good and safe driving record.
Walking and stand 1-3 hours/day.
Use hands for fine manipulation.
Able to lift 50 lbs.
Mount and dismount various types of equipment using ladders and hand and footholds.
Bending and squatting.
Typical work hours 8am to 5pm with some long days required.
Some travel, spending nights in motels is required.
